Legislative Efforts

GET INVOLVED

Joint Legislative Committee has changed its focus. Instead of listening to what each legislative representative has been doing (which they will continue to do), they will be listening to issues as presented by the Community. Issues pertaining to Aerospace, Service Industry/Retail, Education, Environmental, Healthcare, Real Estate/Building Industry, Restaurants, Transportation and Utilities. This is the forum for representatives of those sectors to bring their issues for consideration. This is your opportunity to have the undivided attention of our elected representatives and share your concerns directly with their offices. The Joint Legislative Committee meets monthly on the first Wednesday, at 4:00 pm, at the Fire Training Center. Please call or e-mail the AV Board of Trade office to get on the agenda and bring copies of supportmaterials to share. Chairpersons: Drew Mercy and Susan Champion

Always the 1st Wednesday of every month at the L.A. County Fire Training Facility off of West Avenue “M”

LEGISLATIVE TRIPS

Each year, the Antelope Valley Board of Trade sends a delegation to our nation’s capital (Washington, DC) and our State’s capital (Sacramento, CA) to meet with our elected officials and numerous corporations to represent the business interests of the Antelope Valley.  Every year, prior to our trips, we review our white papers with our talking points.  The most recent are posted in our “members only” section of this website.  Call the AVBOT office for the password.
